.The local Khmer community planned the event.  The ceremony was very interesting, watching the monks chanting and praying.  It was wonderful to see the people, hear the language, and see the beautiful outfits on the women.   Oh, and the food was awesome too!  People were very kind to us.  Many asked about Sarah and her adoption.  It was a very positive experience.

Jim and Jeanne Malmgren Melvin from St. Pete attended with their three beauties:  Maya, Metta, and Lia;  and Steve, Sarah and I drove over from Orlando for the event.  It was great to spend time together with Jeanne, Jim and the girls.  I was also able to make contacts with some Khmer folks who will keep me informed of other events coming in the future.

I hope we can get more families to come to the event next year!  We know now that Khmer planning is "go-with-the flow" and often last-minute, so we can keep that in mind for next time.

Thanks again to Jeanne for her information gathering.

January 25, 2003 - Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for our first Florida Fam Cam get-to know-you party!  We had great food, great kids, and soooo much to talk about!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered for these positions.  Special thanks to Yammi Wear for donating the silk purse and Cambodian flag blanket for the drawing.  We raised $85 to build a well with the Tabitha-Cambodia well project in honor of our children.  The money was sent to Tabitha Canada this week.

We are working on a New Year's Celebration for April.  We will let you know the details when we have more information.
